Outline:

Modular approach to leaning how to link symptoms to dysregulation in nodes and networks connections in the patient's brain.  Learn how to use Electrical Neuroimaging to Evaluate Network Nodes and Functional Connectivity over the Lifespan.    Use sLORETA Z Score Neurofeedback and Brainsurfer to Reinforce Increased Stability and Efficiency in Networks Linked to Patient's Symptoms

Dr.  Robert W. Thatcher will cover his approach, how patient's history, complaints and symptoms are linked to brain's localisation of function properties, and how this knowledge is transformed to treatment planning and application of Neurofeedback Training.He will do some EEG recordings and NFB Trainings and analyse these datas as well as QEEG- Datas given by attendees. He will explain the science behind the various analysis tools and their clinical value.

Dr. Thatcher with the help of Ernesto Soler will introduce his new developments like the Automatic Clinical Report Writer, the NeuroLink, the ERP program and the Concussion Index.Also there will be  a discussion of the new Dry Electrode/Amplifier Headsets from Cognionics and Wearable Sensing integrated with NeuroGuide!

Professor Dr. Oliver Pogarell will give a talk on "Qualitative (standard) EEG in Clinical Practice" with a main focus on qualitative analysis, clinical interpretations and medication effects (1 - 2 hours).

Dr. Daniel Keeser will have an updated talk regarding the simultaneous EEG - fMRI neurofeedback study. Results of real vs. sham EEG phase neurofeedback will be presented on a multi-level analysis approach. The applied neurofeedback protocol comprised cortical regions as the frontal, parietal and temporal cortex and the alpha and low beta frequency range was trained. Resting state EEG, task-based ERPs (Go- NoGo paradigm), Resting state fcMRI, task-based fMRI and behavioral data will be presented and discussed in regard to the efficacy of EEG neurofeedback.

 

Ernesto Soler will be available to help demonstrate the new NeuroGuide Evoked Potential add on as well as discussions of "Effective Connectivity" using the Phase Slope Index.   swLORETA (weighted sLORETA) will be discussed as a future part of NeuroGuide.  swLORETA increases source localization accuracy by weighting deep sources to better approximate the distance from the scalp and deep cortical EEG sources.

Time will be held for attendees to contribute with case studies, short reports on own researches, studies on covered topics.
